Strategic Collaboration Between Cerner and Induction Healthcare

Value added reseller agreement: NHS Trusts who are Cerner clients can access Zesty products through their existing agreements

Improving patient experience: strategic collaboration to help NHS hospitals make it easier for patients to manage their outpatient appointments and correspondence online

Induction, a leading healthcare technology company that helps healthcare professionals deliver better care more efficiently, announces a strategic collaboration with Cerner Corporation (Nasdaq: CERN), a global health care technology company.

Zesty, Induction's market-leading patient portal for hospitals, and Cerner will develop a joint patient engagement solution to help NHS trusts deliver an easier, quicker and more efficient service for patients. This collaboration will closely align existing patient facing technology in the UK and Ireland, building on the benefits of Cerner's patient portal solution Healthelife℠ and Zesty's integration capability with Cerner's electronic health record (EHR), Cerner Millennium®.

NHS Trusts are expected to help patients manage outpatient appointments, complete remote care questionnaires, and view hospital correspondence on their own mobile phones - helping to reduce delays and costs associated with posting letters, reducing demands on administrative, medical and nursing staff, and significantly improving patient experience and access to care options.

As part of the value added reseller (VAR) agreement, NHS Trusts that are already Cerner clients will have access to Zesty's market-leading patient portal under their existing contractual arrangements.

Cerner is a leader in health care technology interoperability and embeds standards and guidance in support of open approaches to data sharing between systems. Cerner was one of the first signatories of techUK's Health and Social Care Interoperability Charter, co-founding the UK's INTEROpen interoperability industry group while championing FHIR® in the UK, and having been a long-time supporter of the Professional Records Standards Body, as well as its predecessor in the Royal College of Physicians.

This strategic collaboration has the potential to generate material revenues for Induction in the year ending 31 March 2022, in keeping with the company's strategic focus.

James Balmain, Joint-CEO of Induction Healthcare, said:

"It is a landmark moment for Zesty to be selected by Cerner in the UK and Ireland to jointly develop patient engagement solutions for NHS hospitals. Together, our organisations can provide staff and patients with world class digital tools to manage their care and operate more efficiently in the current environment of rapidly changing and unfamiliar conditions. The prospect of a patient facing platform that represents the best of Zesty and the best of Cerner will be game-changing for both existing and new Cerner customers."

Distie Profit, Managing Director of Cerner UK, said:

"We will all be patients at some stage in our life, which is why Cerner is committed to providing our clients with scalable and interoperable solutions that help them create the best possible experience for their patients. Helping patients become more engaged and empowered through access to their health information allows them to receive care remotely and better manage their health."

"This new collaboration with Zesty is expected to provide a more streamlined experience for both patients and health care professionals and reaffirms our commitment to improving the outcomes for all individuals by creating innovative solutions and collaborations to benefit our clients."

In the UK, Cerner's powerful, open and interoperable Cerner EHR is utilised by more than144,000 health and care professionals across 24 NHS Trusts to manage 1.5 million patients every month. Its Health Information Exchange (HIE) shares more than 19 million health records, and its population health intelligence platform, HealtheIntent®, is contracted to help clients proactively manage and improve the health of more than 9.5 million individuals.
