MicroGuide Cookie Policy

MicroGuide

MicroGuide is a cloud-based publishing platform that provides care organisations, hospitals, health boards and NHS Trusts with the ability to collaboratively create, edit and publish their own local guidance and policies.

In this document, the MicroGuide platform is called “the Platform”.

About cookies

The platform uses cookies to distinguish you from other users; help us recognise you and your device and store some information about your preferences or past actions when you access the Content Management System (CMS) and/or the web view.

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that is stored on your browser or the hard drive of your device.

Cookies may be used on the platform to:

  • recognise you whenever you visit the platform (this speeds up your access to the platform as you do not have to log in each time)
  • obtain information about your preferences and use of the platform
  • carry out research and statistical analysis to help improve the platform, content and services and to help to better understand users’ requirements; and
  • make your platform experience more efficient and enjoyable.

Types of cookies

The following cookies are currently being used by Induction Healthcare on the MicroGuide platform:

Essential cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of the platform. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to access your organisation’s guidance.

Non-Essential cookies. These include the following:

  • Analytical/performance cookies. These are used to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around the platform when they are using it. This helps to improve the way the platform works, for example, by ensuring that users are easily finding what they are looking for.
  • Functionality cookies. These are used to recognise you when you return to the platform, to personalise content for you and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).

There are a number of different ways in which you can block cookies, including by activating the setting on your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. However, if you use your browser settings to block all or some cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to access all or parts of our platform.

More information on adjusting your settings or preferences for Cookies is set out in the support page for your browser or you can find instructions on this at www.allaboutcookies.org .
