Today, Induction Healthcare and Patient Knows Best (PKB) announce a new partnership which integrates Induction’s patient engagement portal (PEP) ‘Zesty’ with PKB’s personal health record (PHR).  The collaboration brings together respective capability strengths and supports integrated care across ICS’s where providers use different portals.

The end-to-end integration of Induction’s patient portal from PKB’s PHR, will combine Induction’s deep appointment capability with the full suite of integrated PEP functionality, allowing patients to view clinical letters and results, manage appointments, complete digital forms, and attend video consultations.

Patients will be able to view upcoming appointments through PKB, and then seamlessly click through to their Induction portal via NHS login.  From there, they can see their appointment management options, and confirm, cancel, or reschedule appointments, either through integrated automation or on a request process basis.  Automatic registration and capture of patients’ communications and paperless preferences in the handover from PKB to Induction will support further customer programmes.

The workflow will capitalise on Induction’s integrations with EPR systems, including Oracle Millennium, System C and Access Rio, deepening capabilities to include more automated processes and write back for ease of use by patients and professionals.

As a personal health record provider, PKB enables patients access to and engagement with their health data, including test results and care plans.  The new collaboration embeds the depth of Induction’s appointment management functionality into the breadth of the PKB medical record.  This provides the opportunity to further enhance the benefits and experience that patients already receive.

PKB CEO, Mohammad Al-Ubaydli elaborated,

“A number of years ago, getting suppliers with overlapping functionality to work collaboratively was not commonplace. Today, we are delighted to onboard Induction as our second PEP partner, where the complementary features in both of our platforms are used to deliver a better experience and solution for patients and healthcare organisations. There is so much potential for expansion in the way Induction and Patients Know Best can complement patient journeys and we are really looking forward to growing this based on customer requirements and supporting those ICBs where there is a mixed economies of digital solutions across Acute, Primary, Community providers.”

Induction Healthcare CEO, Paul Tambeau, commented,

“Increasingly we’re seeing health systems looking for options that bring together portal, video and personal health record capabilities.  This empowers patients to take more control over their health and wellbeing.  Our partnership with Patients Know Best will bring tremendous value to the NHS.  It is our intention to innovate beyond this first stage of integration, which, combined with our EMR and NHS App integrations, will deliver a unique offering to patients and health care providers.”
